Save death threats and shit though thats corny- I'll look at your IP address and forward that kinda shit to the FBI (ip address is your computers phone number- even if you phony it up the FBI can trace you via your ISP)

Have a position- say what the fuck you wanna. I will read all the comments I can- and post back something if I think its interesting.

And My mind isnt really narrow- I can be won over with a good argument.

Hi. My name is Richard Burrell and this is my blog. Welcome All.
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: Blackman can voice his opinions to the world- or nobody- You gotta love it.
Topic: Weblogs are great!

First entry:
I will be talking about day to day stuff, politics, what I had for lunch, and any other sundry topics that cross my path. I promise to be "good" mostly...(Smile).... But stuff "happens" so don't get bent out of shape if some of what I write is not politically correct or is disagreeable to you. (You been warned!)
Also, since this is not English 101, I reserve the right to make all the typos I want and not use prepositional phrases correctly! (I already passed Eng101- so there! In your face!).

My kids go to Lingelbach Elementary School in Philly. I can tell the planet that- because I drop them off and pick them up from school everyday. No one is going to bother them. Anyway, I mention Lingelbach because of this situation I have with the administration there.
It's a long story that began three years ago when I tried to put my 6 year old son in the school using George Bush's "No Child Left Behind". The principal at Lingelbach told me some nonsense about no room, not from the neighborhood etc... and was not interested in my wanting to take advantage of the President's 'NCLB' deal. But we were not discouraged- we got our -Philadelphia School District tested- 'mentally gifted' son admitted to Lingelbach over the principals objections and roadblocks. It was sort of bizarre watching the woman call her supervisor at the northwest Academic Area Office and actively fight our son's enrollment while we are standing at the front office just a few feet away, looking. Surprising too when she couldn't stop his admittance where the principal campaigned to not allow our son on the school bus which was also a part of the 'NCLB' deal.
I remember standing there with my mouth ajar wondering what my family had done to the woman. You'd figure she'd want a child that was mentally gifted at her school- but we figured her pathos out quickly noticing she didn't like to be balked by brown skinned people. Her patronising smile while telling us we couldn't have enrollment gave us a clue to her personality but to be honest I really couldn't believe a woman with excellent credentials could be so petty and vindictive to people she had never met before. Who knew?
It took almost 2 months to get our boy on the school bus with the principal of Lingelbach fighting it every step of the way. But with some help from the Title 1 people downtown they ordered her to put him on the school bus (then of course it was several more weeks of delays because she took her sweet time having the transportation order faxed over to District Transportation Office- we called them everyday and they said Lingelbach hadn't faxed it- Title 1 called her again and it got done finally). But guess what bus our mentally gifted child ended up on? Our 6 year old mentally gifted 1st grader is placed on the bus with the Special ED/Autistic kids school bus. No room on any other bus we are assured by the Principal (with that smile of hers again).

I gotta take kids to Music School today so I'll finish this when I come back. Giselle has group lesson (flute). Bahir does violin. They are both pretty good and getting better. Settlement is a great music school and it is quite reasonable with tuition, too.
